Career Fair Participant Information

The MICWIC Planning Committee looks forward to your participation in this year's Career Fair on Saturday, March 30, from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m. at the Eberhard Center of Grand Valley State University.

Registrations

Registration for MICWIC 2019 is now open at: https://www.micwic.org/registration.html. If you are authorized to use your company’s/school’s complimentary-registration sponsor benefit or if you are just staffing your company’s/school’s table, the MICWIC contact person from your company/school will tell you a discount code to enter into the payment page of the registration form. If the MICWIC contact person from your company/school has not received this code, send an email to micwic@acm.org requesting it.

Lodging

Participants who require lodging can request a room at the Holiday Inn Grand Rapids Downtown by selecting ‘yes’ to the question “Do you want to make a housing request?” on the registration form. MICWIC has a negotiated rate of $152 (taxes not included) for Friday March 29. Breakfast is included in the room rate. All rooms in the MICWIC room block have two double beds. The MICWIC rate is available until either March 12 or the room block fills up, whichever comes first. Your credit card will be taken at checkout, but it will not be charged for lodging at time of registration. You will pay for your room at time of check in.

Tables

Sponsors at Silver and above will be provided a 6’ by 30” table and two chairs. Bronze sponsors may be asked to share a table with another Bronze Sponsor depending on the number of sponsors in the Career Fair.

Power

If you need a power outlet, please notify micwic@acm.org by March 15. We cannot guarantee to provide electric power to all tables. Requests will be prioritized based on sponsorship level and then request date. Please bring your own extension cords.

Resumes

We will send instructions for accessing resumes of attendees who provide them by March 15.

Sending Materials for the Career Fair in Advance

We ask sponsors who are arriving by car to bring promotional materials for their tables with them, if at all possible.

Sponsors who cannot bring materials with them may ship materials to arrive between March 23rd and March 28th to:

Platinum, Gold, and Silver sponsors may ship items for registration packets to arrive by March 28th to:

Set Up/Tear Down

Set Up Times: 11:30 am - 12:30 pm
If you need help unloading your material, please tell someone at the Registration desk between 11:30 and 12:30. Anyone at the registration desk will be able to tell you where to drop off your materials. Volunteers and carts will be available to help with unloading during this time.

Tear Down Times: 3:00 - 3:30 pm
Your table/display must be dismantled by 3:30 pm. Curbside loading assistance (volunteers and carts) will be available from 3:00–4:00 p.m.

Loading/Unloading Materials
  1. Enter Eberhard Lot (D4).
  2. Pull around to the back of the building to the loading dock and park.
  3. Notify the Eberhard Center of your arrival using the call box on the loading dock.
  4. Load materials on the provided carts and take up to the 2nd floor.
  5. Check in at MICWIC Registration Table in the East Lobby to pick up a name tag and be directed to your table.
  6. Return the cart to the loading dock and relocate your vehicle in the Fulton Lot (C6).
